From the Editor:
Today has been a very productive day for me, and I wanted to give all of you reading this an inside look at what goes on, on my end regarding MIX IT UP. As you know, I am the Publisher of MIX IT UP Magazine and just like any business starting out, I am working on many projects dealing with both the business side of things as well as design.
Some of these projects include: coming up with story ideas, finding writers, finding photographers, thinking about possible video footage, creating and editing that footage, following up with writers and artist on deadlines, editing articles and photos that come in, deciding where stories fit best and for what issues, designing the layout of the magazine for this next issue, updating and maintaining the website, blog, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and other social sites I have us signed up for, as well as creating and working on events. Of course, I have help and support from those of you who have contributed and continue to support MIX IT UP, thank you.
As you see, I try my best to keep you all updated with post on our Facebook page, blog, and website, but at times it is hard given I am working on everything else, not to mention working two other jobs aside from MIX IT UP. That is why I wanted to give you a little insight so you don’t think MIX IT UP is just another group that is trying to get the most friend requests. It’s not about that. What it is about, is you sending in your stories and ideas and me taking them and seeing were they fit in the magazine. It’s about you continuing to help support MIX IT UP so that it can truly be the source for your work and play.
Having said that, what’s your story? whatsyours@mixitupmagazine.com
Send in your stories and spread the word.
Don’t think of this as a school project or essay. It’s your story, idea, favorite place to eat at/ visit/ go out to, things to do, etc.
